Social media star Jerome Jarre builds a grassroots humanitarian relief operation for drought-stricken Somaliland, with Hunter as his one-man film crew.
Social media star Jerome Jarre builds a grassroots humanitarian relief operation for drought-stricken Somaliland, raising $2.2M+ from 80,000 donors in 125 countries after convincing Turkish Airlines to donate a 60-ton cargo flight with a single tweet. Hunter served as Jerome's sole cinematographer across 5 trips over a year. Originally planned as a dedicated film (funded by Ben Stiller's Red Hour Productions), funding was pulled and the footage remains unedited on Hunter's hard drives. This is also where Hunter met the artist JR — launching his entire trajectory of work with one of the world's most celebrated public artists.

Real-world impact
$2.2M+ raised for drought relief in Somaliland. Turkish Airlines donated a full 60-ton cargo flight of food. $1M distributed directly to 1,000 families via mobile money transfer — live at Gates Foundation GOALKEEPERS event alongside Barack Obama, Justin Trudeau, and Malala Yousafzai. Demonstrated the power of social media-driven grassroots humanitarian action. Changed the model for how influencers can mobilize real-world aid. Partnered with American Refugee Committee for on-ground distribution. 3 million people were at risk of famine in Somaliland at the time.
