Tecate

JR's large-scale art installation on the US-Mexico border, challenging perspectives on immigration.

A standalone short film documenting JR's iconic 2017 border installation: a towering portrait of one-year-old Kikito peering over the US-Mexico border fence near Tecate, and the Gigantic Picnic that united hundreds of people from both countries on the final day. Shot during the Trump administration's 'build the wall' era, this was Hunter's first project with JR after meeting in Somaliland, and the beginning of an ongoing creative partnership that helped propel JR to global viral fame.
